I’ve broken two Stanley Phillips screwdrivers this week, any recommendations for a decent brand please? I don’t mind buying a set if need be.

I've had good luck with Wera screwdrivers. Other than them, I use Vessel for JIS screws.

wera every time screwfix toolstation sell them seperately . about a fiver a piece . once tried snapon for 15 quid and they didnt last any longer. i get about a year out of the pozi and phillips 2drivers used evey day before they wear out

I would not dream of buying a Snap On screwdriver now.

I used to rate CK - but can't find them to buy locally.

I have some 1970’s Snap-On from my apprenticeship, they’re hopeless compared to modern stuff.

Just replaced a set of my aging drivers with Vessel. I had the JIS already and the quality and feel of them made me get the rest.

Wera, Wiha or for really nice ones PB Swiss.

Wera are hard to beat for the money, they do lots of types (long, Torx, long Torx, etc.) and are nicely made and finished.

The PBs are my favourite.

if they made the screwdrivers any harder and wear resistant the ends would snap as would be 2 brittle

I am a big fan of the Snap On Hard Handle ones, They are £200 on the van but sometimes you can get a deal, they are made by Williams in America
So most of mine came via Ebay I think i paid about £50 a set a few years ago they are still cheaper now, they are identical

Hard handles are the nuts
I refuse to buy the soft coloured bits of rubbish
When they bought the hard handles back I bought two sets, plus a set of hard handled torx driver
Now mental money new

Especially on ratchets. Some came with, many were retrofitted. (You can now buy loose hard handles to retrofit. I used to buy screwdrivers, remove the shank and drill them out.)
