Household central heating oil is fine to use.
Some petrol stations do it if you can't order 1000L.

I bought a chainsaw, big axe and got a second hand trailer, downed trees are plentiful, generally I try to gather and split the wood in the spring and store it to dry out so it’s ready to use in winter.
The last 2 years I’ve bought a pallet of this
And now my wood consumption has halved from around 9 cubic metres to about 4-5, luckily my stove is a multi fuel, those smokeless coals kick out a hell of a heat, Chuck a log or 2 on top to get the flames and it’ll run for around 3 hours before needing a top up, and the living room is really warm in the evenings so no need to turn the GCH up

Yeh and they dry their clothes on radiators and wonder where the dampness is coming from
I had a set of polish tenants who ran a tumble drier for a year in a spare bedroom , without a vent hose and no windows open ,,, guess who didnt get a deposit back.

I had one and gave it away. They cause condensation, but I only ever used mine for an hour or so in the evenings when the weather was on the turn/changeable Autumn>Winter and Winter>Spring - warm during the day, cooler in the late afternoon/evening.
I believe many Local Authorities forbid their use, most likely because of condensation issues/complaints as opposed to added fire risk?

do you run one your self? i did spend a bit of time looking at them but all the sellers swear blind only use the finest parafin and anything less will stop it working

Yes - mine is used 10 hours a day - been using it for about 3 years.
Run it on kero no problem at all.
It ONLY smells on startup and shut down.
Using the thermostat is a bad idea as it will smell every time it cuts in and out.
Use it in saver mode or I use mine on max - then turn down to minimum.
I have had to service mine 3 times since I have had it. Basically you open it up - remove the burner cover and clean out the combustion chamber with a small wire brush on a drill.
Mine is the 4.6kw model. It is a true 4.6kw. Run flat out all day. Keeps a room with single block walls 600sq feet nice and warm. No nasty condensation. Leave a window open a tiny bit for air.
Always have a CO detector in the room.
These heaters have all sorts of safety features built in. Quite sophisticated - sound like a boiler starting during ignition.
No wick like older models.

They would. When you live in a house with no central heating or suchlike, those things can make the difference between being comfortable, or freezing your knacks off.
It uses about 6L in 10 hours on full power.
Remember that is the biggest model the 4.6kw one.
£3 of oil v £10 of electricity. Payback is pretty quick.
