The lane by my old workshop was frequented by doggers, from the state of some of them i wouldnt have wanted a turn!

Be nice if they could focus their anti parking agenda on the streets in town where two lane roads are permanently turned into single lane use, due to people using the public road system as a permanent car park.

Current position is that the permanent red route proposal has lost all backing from EFDC, the Police, even from the CoL who proposed it after a massive negative response to the consultation, the temporary order has expired so although the signs and lines are still in place they cannot be enforced and in fact should be removed!
no doubt they will try again................. I was also fighting the closure of Fairmead road from Bert's tea hut down into the forest,

Thank you for your recent email regarding TRO2/TRAF7276 – Fairmead Road closure. We regret to hear of your concerns.



We have liaised with Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) colleagues; they have advised, as you have mentioned, that the temporary experimental order has lapsed and unfortunately this was not picked up by the team. We are advised that this is due to pressures in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions including staffing issues. We offer this information by way of an explanation only and not an excuse as the lapsed order not being picked up is recognised as being unacceptable and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.



We are advised that the Prohibition of Motor Vehicles arose from conservatories for the area in question, and was paid for by them. The TRO team raised the necessary paperwork to enforce the experimental order.



We are currently waiting for feedback from our Local Highways Panel (LHP) team on the best way forward, but it would seem that the best solution would be to have the gate chained open whilst there is not a legally enforceable order in place. It is our understanding that the LHP are working with the City of London to discuss the best way forward.



Regarding your comments about there not being a permanent TRO recorded on the Essex Highways database, we can confirm that there is not currently a permanent TRO in place and as such there is no information on the Essex Highways website in light of this. We can also advise that no Notices would have been put up to advertise a permanent order as a permanent order has not been issued.



Please be assured we are working with colleagues to have the gate chained open until a further decision has been made regarding any further restrictions.

I believe they will have to start again, fresh order and consult again, I suspect they will at some point, thing is that if they all do their jobs correctly and follow statutory procedure they are fire proof. So far every TRO I have researched has a cock up, or several cock ups rendering it unenforceable, I have always researched the original TRO and checked the signage against the order whenever I have been sent a penalty notice, bus lane, yellow box, etc. even speeding, so many times you find an error, or an expired temporary order that was never made permanent,

Having wrongfully installed red lines all over the place, hopefully it will alert users as to what is going on (even more so if "someone" was to laminate some posters to put up alongside the red route giving correct chapter and verse as to what has been attempted...)

Whilst great that they are possibly doing away with it . The costs of actual removal would be astronomical. Someone made alot of money putting them in , and now someone will make a fortune removing them . It isn’t a cheap procedure , either scrabbling or burning off .

Watched it being done near me whilst sat in traffic , a guy with what looked lies a super heated blow lamp / lance walking along heating jt and blowing it loose / away . He wasn’t making much progress , and can only imagine what it would cost for miles of it to be done , especially when almost new , as this was old stuff , and thrashed the road surface .

Wouldn’t surprise me if you didn’t get changed from triple the installation cost .

It's more sophisticated around here. A lorry with a small vehicle attached by an umbilical that can mount the pavement removing parking bay lining by what I suppose to be wet sand blasting. Very effective too.
