I'd be interested, do you have a pic, and a price in mind?I have got some nice ones that came out of the honda plant if you want a used one.
For new, screwfix had pcl ones for £100 reduced from £150 when I looked a couple of weeks ago.
There are also draper (and many clones of) that are much cheaper but come with a machine mart/toolstation warranty although I have never known anybody have much luck sourcing replacement springs or parts once the warranty is out.
Reminded me, I bought one of these reels from Lidl several years ago but haven't used it yet. I had a coiled air line hanging from the ceiling in my garage workshop overseas which I really liked as it wasn't a trip hazard and didn't get in the way, so when I spotted a kit on offer in Lidl I bought it...........................bought mine from Lidil......only small bore but good enough for a blow gun and tyres.....
nice spring etc...only €25'ish euros....so who cares......would I buy another for over the bench.....oh yes......

What size bore and what length are they?I have got some nice ones that came out of the honda plant if you want a used one.
Can you not wind it around itself, (if you understand what I mean) tightening the spring !My one fails to retract all the way back now :-(
I need to open it and see whats going on inside I thinkCan you not wind it around itself, (if you understand what I mean) tightening the spring !
Most, if not all, of the retractable air lines, have the annoying rubber ball thing on the end,I need to open it and see whats going on inside I think
No I had not even given it a thought to be honest mate. Most, if not all, of the retractable air lines, have the annoying rubber ball thing on the end,
Which I removed from my air line, I have to be careful when it retracts,
With this rubber ball thing removed, the hose would go through the guide, I was able to wind the mechanism around, to tighten the spring, which I have done a few times over the years.
Certainly when I replaced my air line hose, holding the drum secure when re fitting the new hose could be a little dodgy
edit: I would imagine you've already thought of that.
@Edward Teach howdid you wind it around just by pushing the hose round and trough the holeand all the way over? Most, if not all, of the retractable air lines, have the annoying rubber ball thing on the end,
