...aka sorting out
.
Spent well over a shift sorting out in the mancave today, the end result of which is the van crammed to the roof with all manner of tat that's destined for the tip tomorrow, and it still looks no better
. 4 rear light units that I bought 15 years ago for a trailer project that never happened, numerous lengths of rsj and railway line that I brought home because I thought "I can do something with that" but never did, 3 dozen ratchets (now completely seized solid...) and straps that I was given by a grateful customer well over 10 years ago, and so on. Half a dozen 2lb lump hammers have appeared along with 4 pistol drills, 3 orbital Sanders, 3 heat guns, more adjustable spanners than you could shake a stick at, enough twist drills to fill a wheelbarrow, and half as many morse taper shank drills which are neither use nor ornament to me.
It really grates on me that I've spent so much of my life collecting junk which I've then spent years tripping over to the point where I now have to spend even more time getting rid of it just so I can move safely around the mancave. I appreciate that getting rid of junk is against the ethos of the forum but I actually feel quite embarrassed when I look at the vast amount of "stuff" I've acquired that I have absolutely no use for.
