My neighbour bought a kc square, it was £150

Just a warning it’s not even Lidl grade though it’s nearly square
Rule is nasty as well
Locking pin looks like it’s been filed from a stainless bolt

I suspected as much. Hammers and squares aren't really in the same category as each other...
If you did marketing half as well as they did, plus the engineering that you already do, you'd be a millionaire by now! All you have to do is make stuff look cool and have cool names for stuff

I’ve already spoke to a investment foundry and I’m going to do it properly.

I like the fact they're nice and wide but that's shocking! Might just fab one and mill it square, be accurate enough for me.

Thank you @pressbrake1 for taking a closer look at one; I did wonder whether they lacked substance and were form over function... now we know; I used to follow them on social media.

They started following me on social media then approached my foundry about a product I make.

Funnily enough, I had someone quite well-known in the UK fab/welding social media circles suddenly start making bench dogs for their welding tables after liking my post in Instagram eighteen months ago... might be a coincidence!

I keep seeing those wide squares and they do look handy ,,,, but if I looked at 150 quid in my wallet , it would look a lot handier than that square.

Jody at welding tips and tricks uses one a lot ,, knew Id seen one in use somewhere ..

now that looks better , it looks like its even got the spring like the old starrett ones that woorks so well ,, Id actually have to think twice about drilling a hole in the end so I could use it as a scribe gauge , and definitely wouldnt grind the corner off to avoid weld webs ,,,,

Ah, but on this forum, that supplier is the Marmite of the welding world. I particularly like the comment in one review about the large radios on his box section.

A unique selling point, if Mr pressbrake goes ahead, would be to offer a choice of blades for them: imperial only, metric only, both languages and maybe left- and right- reading options.

Oh, I'm well aware of that... I had one of their TIG machines and let's just say I needed their legendary customer service on more than one occasion before I saw sense, sold it, and bought a Lorch!
