I see the papers are now reporting that when all have nice green electric cars & should we choose to plug them in at peak hours, the national grid won’t be able to cope. Add to the fact the grid itself has been reporting a general lack of generation in reserve, a not entirely unexpected consequence.
No worries though, our greaters & betters will have a solution up there sleeve, I’m sure.

And get paid at the daytime premium for it? Then recharge at night at the night rate? I don't think this will be a problem, very few people need to have their vehicle fully topped up during the day.

The answer to this is smart meters, the real reason for bringing them in is to allow dynamic charging so when demand is high electricity is more expensive. Making people plug their cars in during off peak hours...

Hi, So then off peak hours become high demand and they can charge more then. Ad infinitum. That's what they mean by different charges for peak hours, your peak hours not theirs!!

So it can by electrolysis, but only as an experiment in school labs, or you have an unlimited free electricity supply, otherwise it takes more energy than you get back, thats why 95% of hydrogen comes from Natural gas or other Methane source.

Most of the hyperbole issued about anything to do with conservation and "green" by Govt's is utter rubbish.

We should not forget that the Economy is driven by consumerism. So what Govt's (& Business) are REALLY trying to do - is to drive Sales, but to make you feel like you're actually being "Environmentally Responsible" and good about yourself whilst consuming and feeding the machine.

If you consume - you consume. Energy is Energy and consumption is consumption. The only way to truly cut your "carbon footprint"... is to consume as little as possible. However - if you do that, the whole basis of the Economies of every Capitalist Business and Nation's - staggers and fails.

EV's... are a White Elephant. As a transport solution they are a dead-end. However - as the latest fad to outlaw all of the old kit and get you feeding the economy by purchasing a newly manufactured EV - they get your money, you get a vehicle that'll have a short and expensive lifespan - and you can kid yourself you're saving the planet.

nooo milk it for all its worth then go off on a tangent and god knows where it will go or end we cant generate enough power as it is and all the cabling to feed some places is overloaded and cant cope now
