Got an Amazon "package" delivered, that was one of these A5-sized jobbies you would send a DVD in. I went onto the website, started a chat session, and said that the 5L tub of oil was missing - when the guy saw the pic of the package that I copied, he laughed, refunded me my money and arranged for an actual 5l tub of oil, correctly packaged, to be sent out.I once ordered a baseplate for a machine which was about 2ft by 3ft. a small empty jiffy bag was delivered. I phoned and said the package was empty and they insisted I was definitely in the packet when it was posted. They weren't far away so I called around with the jiffy bag and asked if they could just get another one out of stores and pop it in the bag and let me see it going into the bag and post it again! Saying I was willing to pay again. Red faces when they got the 3 x 2 plate out.
I ordered some solder braid and it came rattling around in a huge box
I enjoy teasing customers when I deliver what feels like a big box of air. “It’s really heavy, be careful… bend your knees, keep your back straight….” It’s great fun standing there watching them pick it up.![]()
Problem now is the post and packing for items like mugs for instance outweigh the profit. That's not to mention the time it takes to create a customised mug in the first place.Bad packing is one thing that winds me up be it too large, too small or poorly protected
I do send a lot of stuff but anything small does go in decent size packing, the smaller the packing the more likely it is to get lost in the system!
