Good Quality Small Wire Brushes

I use small wire brushes quite a lot for cleaning stuff. They are the ones like a toothbrush with stainless steel, brass or nylon bristles, sometimes they have a tuft of bristles poking up on the back like a denture brush.

But I'm yet to find a decent quality one yet that doesn't have bristles made of cheese!

I look through ebay & there are similar sets sold under different names but they all look like the rubbish I'm using.

Someone on here was talking about good quality large wire brushes, I think they were selling a few. Does that company do small brushes?

Has anyone found decent ones for sale?

Im in the same boat. The local weld suppies used to have great little SS brushes. When they ran out I bought 4 boxes from somewhere, nowhere near as good as the first lot. And Im coming to the end of the last box.

Problem I find is the lack of wire they all look like the doll, gaffer taped to the front of a bin wagon

Wilko £1 for 3. brass, nylon and wire brush. They do the job then you throw them and open another pack. No good for securing luggage though.

Finding decent brushes is like finding the grail. I usually search for suede brushes when looking for brass bristles. Ordered 3 Nikwax a while ago, to try out, which upto just seem better than most I've used so far. Quite fine/soft bristles, but densely packed.

Yeah, saw that after I posted - nearest one is somewhere over on the Glasgow side. May just contact Pferd in the UK and see if they can be bought direct in the absence of Google failing to show anyone that sells online.

I wonder if this is something I could investigate doing a 'group buy' for?

Lessmann (Germany) seem to do a decent wire brush and the stiff nylon as well

I think when Pferd first started the first product was farriers rasps.
They still make them now.

I know somebody else makes at least one of the flap discs for them as I had a sealed box once but 2 of the discs had Pferd lables on.
I think it might have been Lukas?

Some of the translations on Amazon are great, I once bought a Bahco panel beating hammer that was “ideal for fish” apparently!

Thanks for the replies, it appears I'm not the only one looking for them!

Since I started the thread I had some inspiration & searched instead for 'spark plug brush'. That yielded some better looking brushes, including the Lessmann ones already mentioned. I might try those out when I find a good source - FFX have them at £4 each but want £12 for delivery to NI!

Ironically, those Nikwax brushes I ordered, I ordered from a shop in Ireland, as I recall. They had the best price on them, at the time.
