A couple of feet of 1 3/4" wide leaf spring?

The semi elliptic springs on the back of my hot rod could do with a little extra help, so does anybody have any of the above, either flat or a slight curve on? About 1/4" or 5/16"

I really need 2 x 12" pieces, but I can cut and trim if required. I've looked on the Bay of Evil, but got 300,000 hits of all descriptions......

they will knock u up exactly what u want and not expensive......

They need to be 1 3/4” wide maximum to fit inside the clamps. Transit is probably wider.

There’s a place called Jones up in Brum, 30 mile ride, if nothing closer, I’ll check into Serk though.

There was a place I used to use years ago, but they seem to have closed, can’t see them any more.

Now if only you had said this a week ago - I scrapped two Escort Mk1 springs that had already been separated and thinned down by the previous owner of the Dutton I'm converting to independently suspended.

I bet that doesn't help you much though

I know they used to use Denso tape to not only stop the springs from rusting but to beef them up somewhat as well. Might be worth a try.

Is it possible to add either coil overs or even better reduce the springs and add airbags ? Appreciate that either may be costly but air ride especially is the dogs danglies. Just my 2p worth.

I thought of going to coil overs, a lot more sophisticated and efficiently, but at the moment I really want to just get it on the road and MOT done, then take it from there. Air bags would be nice, I may look into that as an option.

I bought a Chevy Vortec V8:350, a couple of years ago, with the vague notion of stuffing it in, but it would need so much work to get it to fit, stiffen the chassis up, change transmission etc, to deal with 100% more power and 50% more weight, that I decided against it. I’ll wait until something more practical comes along to do with it. V8 trike maybe.....

This is the bollard as it stands, the springs have bent mainly near the base, more leverage there I guess. They flex from 2" one way, when free standing, to about 3" the opposite way under load.

Well it's not great news...

Contestant number one:

2.375 inches wide, 0.350 thick.

They are 2.7 inches by 0.28 thick.

That's where the monster truck springs reside. Trainee Burke bar material, basically way over half an inch without risking my back to discover, not suitable!

So unless you're interested in a few sections you need to cut to width, doesn't look like I can help.

Unless you're also looking for a giant sword or somesuch...
