Recommend me a table saw (DIY)

Yeah, I know I should fix this one...

But... if I was tempted away, what recommendations would you have for £200 or less?

I've looked at the evolution Fury 5-s, evolution r255MTS and the einhell TS2025. There also Scheppachs and Erbaurs at screwfix but they all seem to be permanently out of stock.

I'd love one that wasn't festooned with plastic but doubt I'm going to get that in this price range.

2nd hand is out - if I was going to nurse a machine back to life, I'd nurse the one I've already got...

I bought one last year

Ripped a load of European oak and floating tongues without complaints

Swap the blade for a decent wood blade and keep the multi materials for the odd job

Being geared it didn't bog down once

axminster one I had lasted for about 8yrs and that was doing white oak all the time, at the time I think it was about £150

Yeah - on my second evo mitre (sold the small one to fund the big one) and got a circular saw, too - great kit.
To be honest, if I'm keeping below £200 then I'm thinking the Fury 5S

I like a lot of the ones linked above, but they're all more than I can realistically justify spending. Interesting point - the only one with a metal chassis under £200 is the £99 Titan from screwfix / B&Q. I guess plastic is the way to go...

to be fair it's been a few years since I got anything from them! look's like they've gone right down hill

I have the Clarke which is generic to Draper etc and its rubbish. The controls feel like they are welded and the fence is rubbish. Cant get the fence parallel to the blade and when you do it moves.
This is the 2nd I have had, having been given it.

have you tried ripping down a bit of metal with it?

well i have tried 3 of them

@Burdekin had the evolution

I liked it however it was a bit of a lug ball into vehicle

had some loverly functions on it a nice deep blade but its blade spacer was awful as needed a new cut so it didnt blister its wood



ive also tried the dewalt table saw nice functions as well easy enough to get where you want

but hasnt got the slider function that the one above had for mitres



ive tried the trolley easy to disconnect from it and also load into van

now I have one more a homemade one just as good as the one above and i can buy parts as and when needed

Reason I ask is that I saw a post on another site that suggested that the £99 Titan is the same saw and, when I look at it, it does seem very similar (minus the green of course!)

Whatever one you go for make sure the table is a solid piece of metal. I had several of the Parkside saws from Lidl which are made by Sheppach and the table is made up from ally extrusions slotted together. The result was a table with a wave across it like an ocean!

Ended up buying a job lot, as the guy wanted them gone.

An evolution R255MTS table saw and a Ryobi EMS254L 2000w mitre saw and a mitre saw stand.
Both for £200.

Pics tomorrow but I'm going to check out the mitre saw and see whether I like it better than my evo rage mitre, then sell the one I don't want.
When I sort the switch on on my old table saw I reckon I'll get £50 for that and somewhere from £100 to £150 for either of the mitres, so pretty chuffed at how the financials have worked out.
