When you have a view like that it seems a shame to cover it up.
Spinny bit and locking pins added to the spit.
Still to sort:
- frame connecting the chassis to the spit at both ends
- castors to add to both ends
- length of RHS to tie the two parts of the spit together.
any comments or suggestions welcome (Particularly hints on how to estimate the rough COG for making up the frames I’ve still to do!)

I use one of those pumps. Very noisy. Need to try silicone hoses, as the vibration travels down the current pvc hose and vibrates the body of the cooler.

Tried to install a Speck impeller but transformer is not powerful enough to supply it.

Finished routing in the grooves for the bases of utility room larder drawers. I cut all the dovetails over the last couple of days.
I made a couple of drawers yesterday and I've got another one in clamps.
3 down, 11 more to go. Then its sanding, oiling and fitting the clips for the sliders.
Then back on the chicken run if the weather permits. If not it's a tailored drawer interior for the kitchen knives.
Happy new year to all, I'm not doing owt else today but eating, drinking, watching carp TV and playing games with the kids.

Thanks, She'll be pleased to hear it. The octopus gets lots of comments when I'm climbing, I imagine this one will get even more.
made some sanding sticks for sanding down the models Im making, using lollipops sticks and wooden coffer stirrers as the backing. you could the coffee stirrers are slightly more flexible than the lollipop sticks. my method is to cut a strip of abrasive paper and stick it to some double sided sticky tape. then cut that strip into narrower strips for sticking to the stirrers/lollipop sticks. Once Ive done that I trim round the backing with a knife.
doing it this way allows you to use your own choice of abrasive and its easier for working into tight spaces than trying to wrap the abrasive around a block. you can also sand to an edge (like using a safe edge on a file).
