That soft sense is so much faster than the swift cut tables. That’s rapid.

I thought at first there was a fair amount of smoke but there was no smell to it so I think it was mainly steam.
I still have the extractor fan but it is not used, I may hook it up and have the tube up near the roof or I may just get an expelair type, will see how it goes.

you've an advantage being in a container, already a good capture area, like you say put one high up at the other end of the container and you basically already have an extract duct. As long as the fan has enough draw, (flow rate) it'll be fine.

Why do those tables do that? My xtreme uses the torch tip to find z0

It is just a different way of doing this. I built mine that way because I thought it a good idea, bit slower but no need to have a floating Z axis that I envisaged could cause problems down the line if it got gummed up.

I got the slats cut to size and inserted in the table.

The last 6 will be made up from this lot, I have to weld 200mm onto the length to get them to size so I will have plenty of spares if required.

As can be seen in the first pic I have the slave motor fitted again to the Y axis. Did a bit of tuning to both and it now seems good. I wrote some quick code to run the Y end to end and used an M47 at the end to repeat the code. I ran it for 2 hours and it never faulted so looks like I am good to go.

Went down to the workshop this afternoon with a plan. I found an old control panel I had made for one of my CNC machines and thought it would make a perfect test bed for the plan. I chopped it up so it was basically a tray and then welded up all the holes. I then placed it on the plasma and filled it up with a mix of cutting oil and water and cut a load of aluminium above it to see if there was any visible reaction.
All seemed good, no visible fumes, nothing went on fire and the aluminium dross seemed to ball up so I decided to go for it and fill up the table, worst comes to the worst I will have to drain it into drums and use on the mill/lathes and then purchase either GreenCut or PlasmaCut Blue although further research is required on both and any other I plasma fluid can find.
