Nice 6/71 blower sat there.
I had a 6v/71 sat on my shelf for years, with plans to put it on a hot rod some day.... it never happened, it’s basically the wrong one to use.

Standard on most Land Rover brakes and swivel housing bolts. Basically where getting a socket in is difficult or impossible. The 12 points make using a ring spanner much easier.
In inaccessible spots as above or just in general? Always fascinated why manufacturers use different bolt heads etc. As an example I think it was JLR used smaller heads than you'd expect on some of the bolts on the engines so you couldn't "over torque" them. I.e. They wanted the thread engagement / diameter of say an M16 bolt but didn't want the torque because it would strip the ally so shoved an M10 bolt head on it. Makes it much simpler on the production line.

And when you first fire it up keep the air filter off and a piece of steel plate to hand....

, had a runaway starting an old road compressor, alsthom three cylinder, that hadn't run for donkeys... Managed to rip off the hose to the air filter box and blank it off enough to starve it, don't know what concerned the neighbours most, seeing this huge plume of smoke or the riotous laughter coming from me when it stopped and the smoke calmed down... Lesson learnt though, now every time I start an old diesel, I keep means of blanking the inlet handy....

Yes, petrol in a diesel is not a good idea, as I found out last week.... to the tune of £200

Nice work on the frame, but please satisfy my OCD and round off that bottom right corner on the bracket to follow the base curve, I've fallen prey to many sharp 'ankle basher' sticky-out bits in the past.

Met some crazy German man who had stuck a small v6 Detroit in his, 10+ years ago, a modern one unlike my '70s V6 53n.
They stuck turbos on as well as the supercharger, some crazy American videos on the tube. I do like the cam operated injectors, no injection pump, interesting engineering. From cold the oil is thicker, and advances the timing, or something?

Reminds me of that ugly flying huntsman thing that kahn ruined.
Also yes it would go in the landy but it’s just not practical.

Agree it's not the prettiest but when you're trying to shoehorn a 27 litre Rolls Royce Merlin into a Series 2 something's got to give
