best insulating tape ?

look for suggestions for a quality insulating tape , would typicly be for 12v jobs , want something nice and flexible with a good stretch , poundland stuff isnt good enough

i was thinking 3m....but theres several part numbers been caught before and had some that was really thick

Last stuff i got was 'concordia".

Seems as good as anything i've used - not that I use a lot! (I prefer glue filled heatshrink for the jobs I do).

Looks like CPC sell it.

Last lot I bought was tesaflex.
It's better than the 80P shop tape.

I use non sticky on vehicle/machine wiring and shrink sleeving on the ends to stop it unravelling .

Loom tape and heatshrink for me too – I hate having to deal with wiring that's been bound up in insulation tape!

If it's internal, loom tape does the job, but if it needs to be watertight, I use self-amalgamating tape to cover the T, overlapping the heatshrink.

Self amalgamating tape is best for this sort of thing, soft, flexible, non sticky and stretches so you can pull it tight around most shapes.
Halfords do it and it's not bad stuff, I had to take a bit off a few weeks ago that had been on for a few months and it didn't want.to unwrap!

3M do one that comes in a Clear plastic case. It’s the best one I’ve ever Used.

Those what I use as electrician and I would recommend.

The standard stuff I have which is very good is 3M Temflex 1500.

the really good stuff is Scotch Super 33+

Advance Tapes AT7, and also Nitto brand tapes come recommended.

The 3M Super 88 is an all weather tape, not sure the Super 33 is. If I can't heat shrink it's what I reach for...

I think the 33 and 88 are nearly the same but the 88 is thicker.
