IP66 Socket

Any one recommend a good quality IP66 single socket?

I’ve had two off Wessex branded jobies from Toolstation, they last about 6 months before the white plastic cracks

Had a quick look and almost all ours about the farm are British general, including the ones in the dairy and they have a pretty tough life.

And in screwfix about £10 couldn't be easier, i really rate bg terminals on their sockets

I’ve just had a trip to Toolstation. Some wood bothering is happening.

I’m making the Subwoofer cabinets for my stack

I like the Clipsal/Schneider ones, not only do they last well, they keep the worst weather out too. Mine have been in use for the better part of 20 years and are still fine.

Probably with the world is what was great 20 years ago isnt the same as now seems 5 years is as far back as you can go now

Schneider are good (I guess I would say that as I work for them ...),

Ive got a couple fitted, been up a good few years and no probs.

Big difference in price between the BG ones and MK et al, got two of the BG ones they’re great so far. You can padlock them (kids) and see whether they’re on / off without opening them up. They do look like a normal faceplate protected with a waterproof enclosure rather than a dedicated waterproof design but meh.

I fitted a BG double recently, its mostly good other than the clip, opens the opposite way you might expect and feels cheap, I expect that bit to fail first.

I was saying that to a friend last night!
MK now have utterly crap terminals and the screws are made of cheese!
I won't buy them anymore even if they were BG prices!
