I didn't have to do a test but I think it's a good thing. My eldest has done his theory and has a driving test booked. He will be wanting to do the trailer test soon after he passes. Once you take away the speed aspect I don't see how it can be argued it's more difficult than the trailer loads of big bales/muck he's been hauling down country lanes with a tractor all summer(He's got a tractor license). He can reverse a trailer as well as anyone I know but a test is still a good thing.
