I have seen and used these budget plasma cutters , some of them are okay ..they do the job they say they will .. mostly . But the difference between one of them and a hypertherm is huge . Cut 50 Vs powermax 45 ... You might think that sounds comparable . But it's not , the powermax is many grades above the cheaper machine . For a start hypertherm understate the cutting abilities if it says it will cut 10 mm , you can cut 15mm ..when you strip out the shield and run the gun naked , get in good and close with a steady hand and don't touch that tip down your looking at double what it says on the tin . I have had mine for 6 years , it's never missed a beat and I abuse it in the most horrifying ways . Yes I have had to replace the torch a few times , but that's because I have melted it using it for things way outside what it is designed or rated to do ,things no sensible user would ever ask of it .
Too expensive you say £2000 + is out your budget ...well I kept watching the auction sites and eBay , I waited and watched for about 4 months . Land rover garage going bust sale , one hypertherm powermax 45 still under warranty, only ever used to cut land rover thickness Alloy and steel ...Bid it and brought it home for £500 .
Now you tell me - I did ask ^....
Yeah to be fare I'm a bargain hunter for a quality bit of gear and would of been handy many times for my defender, was hoping something would pop up locally but nothing so farI have seen and used these budget plasma cutters , some of them are okay ..they do the job they say they will .. mostly . That's exactly what I've noticed just looking at cheap machines .Most of the plasma cutting performance comes from the torch design.
HT makes some really good ones, the spares are expensive as well.
Have a look at the TECMO torches, they specialize in making only torches.
And from what i've understood after having a chat with one of the employees they designed the HT ones. And they have consumables compatible with HT torches.

I am hoping to upgrade to a 90 . I have heard a fabricator is possibly shutting down and he has one hooked up to a table . Will let you know if mine goes up for sale .
Hi, whats the difference between the ifl cut 40 and is the newer version the i-tech?I have an IFL Cut 40 for sale. Its not the pilot arc version currently advertised but it does the job.
Ah right im getting mixed up then i think, the i-tech is the newer version of the cut40 then theres the i-tech cut40p, which presume is for the pilot arc, may i ask why yoir selling it, no use, upgrade etc, is it still for sale, thanksI know nothing about the latest version but here is the spec. of mine.

Is your the itech cut40 or just cut40 model?, when you say it just works, do you mean it does what its meant to or it only just works sort of thing, also what do you think of it, good bad? Cheersmine is the older version as well. It just works.
Thanks for the info, im trying to take in as much as possible,@Monkx. I’m selling it because I have a plasma CNC table which came with a Thermacut machine for which I also have a manual torch. My iFL machine works perfectly. I also have some standard spares tips and nozzles as well as extended ones. These are particularly useful when cutting freehand as you can see the flame better. And it is the i-Tech Cut 40.
