Finished the cross-cut sled for my table saw today. I started working on this several weeks ago, but I ground to halt after trying to get the fence (which is made out of two bits of B&Q plywood laminated together) square. I did the 5-cut method thing (which amplifies any error by four for easy measuring) and managed to get it square. I then cut a short piece and it was WAY off. Turns out the plywood fence was bowed, so I gave up for a bit while pondering what to do about it.
A couple of days I ago I finished making a "planer" that uses my router to trim the top of a bit of wood, so I put the fence on a flat table and ran the router all over the face of it. Refitted the fence and did the five-cut thing again and got it square much quicker this time: on the second cut the (amplified) error was 0.05 mm over 465 mm length, which is very much in the realms of measurement tolerance when measuring the width of a bit of wood! I tried a short piece again and it was spot-on square, so I'm much happier now and could get on with making the stop out of some scrap aluminium and then fitting the scales on the top of the fence.

Today I finally fixed the Babyliss hair trimmer. Old cell unsoldered and my < £4 replacement whacked in place. working and on charge atm. Kodak eat your heart out.....

Not sure if I did improve it!

I got a ficus Benjamin named EDGAR
It was fine for about 8 months till last August when it started loosing the leafs and eventually die .
I still pretty sad about it ,I been very careful to make it feel fine ,I think it got a disease of somesort because even my friend who is a professional arborist didn't found a better answer to its death

If you need any work doing on bonsai trees my mate is a 4'9" lumber jack and dor years we have been saying he should branch into bonsai..Today I tried to make this Abies look more like a Bonsai!!
Not sure if I did improve it!

No a potential Norbert knocked off a AVO7X I was fixing and broke it to a point it can not be repaired.
I have placed my thumb where a thumb should not be poked.

Not made, but repaired an old tool makers cabinet that was my dads, still has his old milling cutters in it. He had two brilliant mills, an Aceria F3 and a Deckel with the dividing head etc unfortunately when he died I had to sell them as there want room for them at the house I moved to, keeping his Chipmaster was a big enough challenge. I kept the mill tooling though knowing one day I’d get another one. Having bought one last week I thought it time to dust off the cabinet and repair it.
