Today, I broke the lid of my MK IP66 double external socket on the shed.

Loads on the 'Bay for replacement, but I don't want to buy a substandard 'brand' - anything the equal of MK or are they much of a muchness - since MK seem to have gone up quite a bit in price since I bought the cave one.

MK are a bit like Stanley Draper etc, ie not as good as they used to be.
BG from Screwfix is a decent brand for reasonable costs.

That’s the one i have. Been on an exposed wall for 3 years, not a drop of water in it yet.

Got one of those Screwfix ones too. It’s still working and dry no issues there. The clips to close the cover are a bit too tight on mine, especially with a 2.5 mil flex, but for the price I’d happily replace like for like.

robin gits its the same one but 9 quid dearer plenty of places on the net cheaper than that haven't u got a screwfix near u . they do click and collect

Don't get me started on that one - I've lost count of the places which say "free UK mainland delivery", then in the same breath "Doesn't post to the Scottish Highlands". All blaming the couriers etc - the Scottish Gov are even setting up an enquiry as to why the discrimination.....
