I realise the thread title might make people think I'm blind, but... I've recently started using my cheapie Aldi stick set to tack up some pieces prior to handing them over to a 'real' welder to finish. Apart from being a complete beginner and not having mastered striking an arc, on the rare occasions I get an arc going I simply can't see where I should be laying the weld down. I can see the weld pool, but can't see the work piece at all.
The helmet I bought (at the recommendation of my local welding suppliers) was a Jackson WH20 Aspire. It's an auto-darkening helmet and has two adjusters above the screen for Sensitivity and Delay. Not knowing how these should be set, I've put both of them roughly in the middle. Have I just bought a rubbish helmet or are my settings wrong?
