That will be my wife, more often than not she’ll burn herself. I’ve yet to see her wear the gloves I bought her

Don't use em to take baked potatoes and pizzas out either (on the shelves not in pans.)

Just bored on a Saturday morn.

I do 95% of the cooking in our house. I try to teach our daughter who is interested in cooking, some best practices etc.

All the shows and instructions always specify to put your oven gloves on when putting something in the oven but I never have.

The only safe way is to use a wet tea-towel as the steam will sterilize the burn.

I did this to myself on Tuesday and, as you can see, thanks to prompt and proper care, it's hardly visible now and only slightly infected....

Wet tea towels are lethal, conduct heat far quicker than a dry one

It depends, I've been doing some stuff that needs cooking before it goes in the oven, we received some French sounding cast iron dishes as a (postponed) wedding present, they get hot quickly if left to stand before going in the oven

don't have any oven gloves but I have been known to take things out of the oven with red welding gloves

Done that a few times so oven glove all the time. I always, without question, roll mys sleeves up and kids at school have in the past asked me if I've been self-harming and would I like to talk to someone about it!

slightly off topic, but I used to work for a refractory company that made furnace and kiln linings, and I did suggest to the sales department that for adverting puproses they should give branded oven gloves away.

I don't own an oven glove and I never have ...I do a fair bit of cooking I use a tea towel if something is very hot ...
