Little trial run on the filler cap is giving great results with some Brasso and elbow grease

The leather cup washer has perished.

Where can I get a sensibly priced 11/16 leather cup washer?

Then this bad boy is ready to fire up

I have a few brass blow lamps hanging in the garage, Including one or two that are fuelled by petrol, I think there is information on the internet of youtube regarding making leather washers.

An update

It wouldn’t build pressure, an investigation of the pump highlighted that the one way valve was all gummed up on the spring. Cleaned that all up and it “springs” nice n smooth

I tried to save the leather cup washed but it’s too far gone. I’ll order an 11/16 when the place opens on Monday. Seems an odd size when it’s a metric pot?

I was nicely surprised to find the “Made in Sweden” Mark. Everything is as spotless as I can get it and the pin hole in the Jet has been cleaned too. So after much elbow power it looks like this

They are a useful tool, But made fairly obsolete by the instant lighting of the gas torches, They also look very nice when polished, but have largely gone out of fashion now, the days of cleaning and polishing "your ornaments" is not an attractive pastime for the younger generation. Unfortunately!

I use mine a lot.

Today I was using one, to dry off items from a citric acid tank.
I used my big brazing one the other day to braze up a "thing".

Paraffin is cheaper than some bottle gas.

I also used one to warm up some metal, so I could fit wood bungs, so they will be super tight in the hole.

This one has come out very nice, much better than I was expecting. Its almost too nice to use and get messed up with dents and dings. Will probably get a test and polished up again as a display object.

At home ive got a smaller Sievert blow lamp, its well used. Now that I know what im doing that too will get a clean up and then put into service for BBQ lighting duties.

If they ever give it ' I CBA' or similar I say nowt and just get on but, the next time they ask for a favour they get told to do one. Even running to mum gets em nowhere cos she knows better .
Its amazing how many favours they need when they buy their first car too seeing as they can't afford garage prices for maintenance .

Back on topic I would love a parafin and/or petrol blowlamp, I remember my grandad having one many years ago and there didn't seem to be anything he couldn't do with it that I would need mapp or similar now. Considering the gas bottle prices I would sooner get a gallon of parafin or petrol and it would be cheaper!
