I’ve read a lot of posts on here over the last few weeks whilst I was weighing up whether to pay someone to repair rust on my Mx5 or whether to learn to weld myself.
I’m pretty set on doing it myself now, and from what I’ve read, MIG is the way to go.
Now I don’t really know what my budget is, because some places offer flexible payments, but to kick start things I was looking at ordering an R-Tech MIG 180, which is a smidge under £500. I then noticed that they offer 6 months interest free meaning I could go for their 250 version. I don’t think I’d need the higher amperage but the duty cycles are certainly improved.
my questions;
cheers all,
-Lew

my questions;
- Would you spend the extra on the 250 model if you were only doing car repairs?
- What alternative welders would you recommend, given this sort of budget/payment options?
