feeling low and down

@Migmac don't know about you, But taking longer on a job sometimes seems more enjoyable. I hate rushing jobs & prefer to take my time to do a better one!

The three extra lights in the rear of the van were good fun. Refused to have more cables showing than the ones coming out the back of the lights. All the other cabling is totally hidden. The beacon I must of measured where the fixing holes were going eight or nine times! It’s mm perfect. The cabling for it is totally hidden too apart from where it comes through the roof. Mig welding wire is great for pulling cables through vehicles!

As long as it's not Sunday and I'm short of beer, it's all ok.

Frankly, talking about feeling low and down, not had that, but...

I like a drink, always have.

A pint at lunch time, and then in the evening 3, 4 even at a push 5 ...

Well since lockdown... My day..

Bed at 2 or 3 am, thank you the Welders Arms...

Awake at 7, but not getting up til 10. Drink coffee, followed by tea x 4 or 5.

During which check this forum, and news sites and some humour, maybe something else if everyone's still in bed...

About 12 ish, I'll start considering doing some work, around the house, get 8 hours in most days, but from lunch time, wife and I will do drinkies about every hour, you get the picture..

Stop about 9 ish in the evening.

Interesting new routine..

Getting a lot done, but going back to work, going to be a shock, in many ways.

This is my coping mechanism.

I'm retired so I don't get any time off. Can't do all the stuff I usually do but I am getting a lot of reading done.

Im retired too, and really not much has changed for me, apart from the local is shut, and its much harder to get a food delivery slot.
Living very rurally, I went to the big city last week, it was weirdly quiet.

But I agree with the keep busy and some kind of routine, how folk sit and watch the goggle box all day I have no idea.

I like a beer - but of late I/we have been rationing ourselves to a max of three drinks a day.

Yesterday I only had two (pint) bottles of beer.

Wonder if wifey will let me - carry over the third - part allowance - over to today - I did not use yesterday?

SHE quoted - that she has only had one drink the last few days - but you wanna see the size of the glass (bucket) - she had a Gin and tonic in...


Sunday - I did the instagram video thing with my 85 year old mother - I noted she was drinking Gin out of huge glass - I did challenge her about the size of the glass - she barked at me - "its all ice!"... I gracefully withdrew from this and changed the subject!

Just had a 10 litre barrel from Turning Point brewery delivered, 6.2% IPA so all's not lost.
Wifey is struggling with it though.

I dropped some shopping to my parents house yesterday and my dad was attempting to cut down a conifer if sorts for the neighbour with a bow saw, I reminded him that he has a telescopic chain saw and I’d do it for them both I really enjoyed doing some proper work for a change rather than mooching about the house. Was 10 foot tall when I started

chin up mate, as a few lads have mentioned try and follow a routine and do a bit of exercise as it will make you feel great in no time

Going through unused things … The solar powered sex machine has been rediscovered . Amazing engineering for a 70 yr old thing on a quality 55 yr old mounting frame .

I may not have been clear. My wife is struggling with staying in. She does not struggle with beer. At all. She loves a good pint of IPA

Started back to work this week with caution and making plans for next week too as i don't need to meet or interact with people so perfect...not big earning jobs but for right now mental health is far more important than money

I've often wondered how Terry Waite managed to endure five years of very much enclosed captivity , a lot of it chained to a radiator and being subjected to attempted homosexual rape. It kind of makes our lock downs seem like a holiday camp with bonuses. I got a lot of mileage out of his book about it . For at the time I was going through a rough patch trying to accept enforced curtailing & altering of my life due to becoming crippled.

Get yourself into a routine!

I try & get up around 8am

Breakfast around 9am

Maybe do some exercise, If not have a shower

Then I crack on with jobs that need doing

Tidying up makes a massive difference I've noticed for my motivation

Clear work area, Clear mind

A very good long term American friend of mine said " Dave set your alarm & get up , once your through the bathroom & breakfast put your shoes & lace them up . It stops you sitting watching TV slumped on the Chesterman in your slippers for the rest of the day . That was nearly 25 years ago , being so true it's come to my rescue several times when I've been struggling with my disabilities. .

Similar here my lass puts a weeks morning & evening meds for me in sections of individually week day named sliding lid pill boxes
She then puts them in day order in a plastic case that has a see through panel in it . Today is Friday .....so the pill boxes tell me .

got out of the house at 11 went and got armoured cable for job cut the concrete path up with stihlsaw and kango hammer new cable fitted to garage and connected. job done . got fed and watered while there at a distance of course freezers in garage up and running again early finish
