My eldest son is over run with rabbits and is wanting to buy an air rifle to help deal with them, What are the best suggested rifles at not too great a cost, .177' or .22" etc, any particular makes better than the rest.? Plus maybe a decent scope if needed

unless he likes the sport snare them I set 5 lots round my small field where they run .caught a few and let the dog have them. every morning and night he patrolled them and went crackers if one had been caught

And oxygen, you'll need it. If you have a diving club nearby they’ll have tanks that are no longer coded for breathing use, but can be used for compressed air if air rifles. Get at least a 20ltr, lower volume and they balance out too fast.


You could always buy a ferret, hours of entertainment, easier to sell as well, the rabbits that is

Always netted with ferrets. Maybe a couple of guns about 30yds into the field, there was always a bolthole you missed one would fly out of. Good quick draw shooting.

.177 for feather .22 for fur, but for the price of a decent air rifle you can get a moderated .22LR firearm much cheaper to run and maintain and better range than a sub 12ft/lb air rifle.

Dry air. Not oxygen. Oxygen would result in an explosion.

.22 has more stopping power for rabbits.

Oxygen? Or do you mean compressed air?

If a cylinder has been failed for diving then it's failed for any use and should be rendered unusable.
