Supplier for large (65mm ideally) m4 nylon washers?

Diameter isnt that critical, but needs to be m4 hole.

Best i can find is an inch.


They are for a "hinge" - two plates that rotate against one another.

Theres no real force involved. Its just on a little case / enclosure. I just dont want the steel faces grinding one another as the user opens and closes it.

Google hasnt shown me any supplier so far.

Only want 25 or so (100 pack is fine) - just dont want to get a minimum custom order of 50,000!

You'll be lucky. It would be cheaper and easier to buy a piece of nylon and make your own. Assuming you have a lathe, of course.

Sounds like a good fly press job.

Depending on how dead on you need them grab a 70mm hole saw shim a 4mm drill in knock them out of a nylon sheet on a drill press

I don't have a press. I've resisted buying one due to space considerations. The sharpened tube and hammer may be my best plan.

To be honest, I didn't even know you could buy it in sheet form!

Wonder if i could cut them on the CNC machine with an engraving v cutter, or if it would just melt / tear them?

I could set the depth regulation to just a fraction under the sheet thickness and then pop them out by hand. Hmmm... Wonder if that would work.

M4 is tiny for such a big diameter. Why not just cut them out of some plastic sheet with a pair of scissors. Then drill a hole through them.

Can you find a 65mm o/d washer with a bigger hole in the centre then find a 4mm washer with an o/d to match the i/d on the bigger one?

Sourcing material: I recommend HDPE (cut up milk bottles). Preparation time ~ 10 minutes

Stamp out two dozen rounds @65mm: tooling setup 10 minutes (got to sift through a big pile), production 10 minutes.

Centre finding jig: internal 90 degree flat plate, position rounds, punch 4mm hole. 10 minutes.

Postage and packing, 10 minutes.

Total: 50 minutes, call it an hour.

I have been collecting them for years. I probably have several hundred. Certainly a cubic metre or so. I intend to make up some stock from it once I build the shredder. It is a surprisingly tough plastic. Hard as nails when melted into a thick sheet, billet or round.
