Hi forum! ROLF



Ever since I was a small boy I’ve wanted to own a Reliant Rialto Saloon, and finally after 52 years of dreaming I own said mighty chariot! J



Since getting acquainted with her I have been encountering problems with handling.



To combat this I am looking to replace the single front wheel with an altogether sturdier 2 wheel front axel.



Does anyone have any tips on the best ways to go about this without ruining the classic beauty.

Had you rolled it yet, or just got an inside wheel off the ground?

Lower the CofG and get the weight as much as possible over the 2-wheel axle. Then add a heavy duty anti-roll bar to minimise roll. This will actually add predictability to the limit of the envelope.

Rob, are you mental, or a troll? Why would you buy a car you'd always wanted, discover it's a pile of crap, and more to the point, a 3 wheeled death trap, and want to convert said historical masterpiece into... a normal car, but crapper. Nonsense.

Flog it, and buy a Vectra.

Edit. Actually, to improve the handling, turn the drivers seat around, put an extension on the steering wheel, and drive it in reverse. Much better!

1) Get shot of the rear axle
2) Acquire a complete front end from a 70s Mini and graft it on to the rear end of the chassis, pointing rearwards
3) Lock the single wheel (which will now be at the rear of the re-aligned vehicle) in the fore-aft position.
4) Reverse the driving position and off you go. To the funny farm.

I reckon it could do 70mph like that,
