Erbauer circular saw failure

The saw I bought on here a few months back decided to kill itself during its second use by me.....
Upon dismantling it it looks like it’s just a bearing that’s gone, which is good news as spares for any Erbauer tools are almost non-existent.
Now, if only I had the bearing puller kit I ordered from Euro Car Parts and thought I’d probably never use...
Hopefully if I can get it off and measure it up it’ll be easy enough to source a replacement.

Could you measure it as it is and slice it off with a grinder?

Could you measure it as it is and slice it off with a grinder?

That might be my only option without a proper puller as I've just tried it using a modified Chinesium hub puller I've had knocking around for years but it won't budge.

Will take a look, my best guess measuring it in situ using my lovely Mitutoyo vernier courtesy of the lovely @roofman is 28mm OD, 8mm height and 12mm ID.

No, caveat emptor and all that though I'll be more careful to check out if any used power tools I buy have had a hard life or not.
At least it's a nice cheap fix though, which is good as it's a beast of a saw.

No, it's a 210mm 1700W corded one.

Hopefully, coming from RS it will be reasonable quality, I bought some from Amazon that were listed as well known decent brands and got some cheap Chinesium rubbish which I got refunded for and bought some proper ones from Simply Bearings

For the amount of use the saw will get I'm sure it will be fine.

I'd have that off in moments with my mini grinder and 1mm disc. Want a challenge? Removed many a steering stem bearing pressed against a shoulder that way. Wheel hub bearings same thing.

At work they have a fancy bearing puller that locks into the grooves in the inner/outer ring, made by FAG. Quite expensive apparently.

Chap in work had a bearing on a 2 stroke engine crankshaft that he couldn't pull off even with a quite industrial puller. I got two cold chisels and put a good edge on them. Held them either side between the bearing and crank. hit both chisels to break the fretting bond then it just pulled off as normal. Just a pity he'd damaged the end of the crank with the big puller before I got to look at it. He'd tried heat and penetrating oil too.

Have some tool steel wedges that have been invaluable when combined with old gauge blocks for getting bits apart

I usually crash the outer race using the vise and I slice through the inner race using a Dremel
Usually the come out fairly easily this way
You can also remove the balls and the bearing will disassemble itself

Have some tool steel wedges that have been invaluable when combined with old gauge blocks for getting bits apart

I think that this could damage the plastic fan

i had an upgrade on a power tool early this year a mate had the old one it failed after the 3rd time he used(over 3 monthstime ) it he asked did i have wareenty on it with a smile i replyed if youed gave me £30 quid for as thats what it was worth yes but i will refund you what i charged you for it he replyed but you gave it to me i said yep

Off with the old....

....and on with the new....

All back together and working fine again. It feels like it vibrates a little more than it used to so maybe the broken bearing damaged another bearing in the gearbox. Something for another day.
