Shower help

We currently have Combi boiler and an electric 10.8KW shower. We want a much more powerful shower, the boiler is well past its sell by date so whilst we are replacing it I was going to upgrade the shower, so I haven't a clue what do I need? I believe I will need to go back to a hot water cylinder?

I am looking at a new combi next year and was thinking of going for an Intergas extreme to get the hot water flow i need i think i was told they do 20 litres per minute so that should get me wet in the shower.

You have mains pressure hot water.
Get rid of the electric shower and plumb a thermostatic shower in

Sounds heavy and a pain the week before christmas.....

Replacing a worcester 550, same idea but floor standing. I'm not a huge fan of the germans but they do hot water well

Just get @8ob to fit one of his silly pumps into the water system. He demonstrated that last time I was over and it's stupid, fills a Bob sized bath in about 20 seconds. He went to demonstrate the power of the shower straight from the tap and it promptly shot out of his hand and went flying around the room soaking everything.

No idea what we have but it’s a valiant and does a fair amount of hot water out of the shower. Not as powerful as my mum and dads setup with hot water tank but still really decent.

Bit of a downgrade from their “communal” efforts in the 40’s...

But you are only entitled to take 12lpm from the main, so you'd need a large header tank with pumped supply. They're very good boilers though.

Have been hear over 40yrs never had a gas failure, but lots of power cuts. At some point, I will get around to adding the boiler to the UPS.

A back up option is what it is,regardless of the circumstances that bring it into play

For me a leaking hot water tank put gas fired hot water out of commission, so glad of the electrc shower then

Vaillant is a very good make, only reason I dont fit them often is they are physically large compared to other brands

Also, this will run 3 mixer showers at once

It should run 6 but they only wanted 1 cylinder

Just fitted a new shower cubicle and thermostat mixer to my Worcester greenstar combi boiler, wish I'd done it years ago, fantastic.
