just fitted a new twin piezo sound bomb in the bedroom .it operates from outdoor pir censors round my house there fitted about 3 foot up from floor so animals can get through without setting them off . they are not affected by wind or rain and snow. our lass nearly jumped out of her skin when I set it off

lol people with mucky mindsits for security it wakes you up smartish when anyone tries to sneek on to my property and rob the van or anything else and ive caught a few thats all I am saying about the security

that's just the 1st line of defence I have a few more on pir floodlights that you cant get past the back of the property is all fenced off with barbed wire along the top

Many years ago (although I know to some of you lot the 1980s wasn't that long ago ) I used a piezo siren connected to an old CB radio power supply, plugged into an old mechanical timeswitch... as my alarm clock! My daughter lived with my parents for a couple of years and once she started school I had to go and collect her from the old folks... trouble was, I could sleep through the end of the world (and still can) so it had to be drastic to get me out of bed. Even now I have three alarms set on the iphone... and I still don't get into work before 0930

I once put a battery alarm clock under the floorboards in a mates bedroom and set it for 3.00am.

He was decidedly unhappy apparently. I didn't witness it.

A friend of mine had a sound bomb fitted to the back door of his work unit. It nearly rendered you unconscious it was so loud.

I I’ve just replaced the fire alarm system in the house,I took this siren/speaker out a shop yrs ago, you do not want to be anywhere near it when it goes off.

Had to wear Defenders when I was programming it, and it still hurt

I'll say no more......

There IS an easier and, I'm assured, a much simpler way. When you go to bed at night, move the clock to the other side of the room and set the alarm to a time 10 minutes after you're about climb in. Then, when it rings, immediately [this is the important bit] jump out of bed and turn it off, resetting it to your genuine 'getting up' time, but leaving it where it is.

Do this for a couple of weeks [yes, I know it takes extreme willpower ] and you'll find yourself getting out of bed automatically - it's all to do with 'brain training' apparently.

Interesting technique Slim (or is it Fat?) - trouble is, here at Wedg1e Villas they took the plans for a 2-berth caravan and scaled them down, thus my bedroom is so small I can practically touch all 4 walls without getting out of bed. I have to wait for the morning glory to subside before I can open the door...
