Got to be the most expensive club hammer?

Anyone ever seen such a price on a club hammer? At first I thought that the head were a lump of gold.

I had a 2 and a half lb bronze engineers hammer and bronze chisel .they came from the chemical works I saw a 3foot bronze crowbar at autojumble last week he wanted 100 quid for it

I have used lots of "non spark" bronze tools in hazardous areas on chemical works, ( I think Brightspark must have found the ones that I LOST) The usual maker was Telcon, I thought our Snap-On dead blow sledge hammer was pricy enough at over £600-00 over twenty years ago

I still have a bronze ball pein hammer , a lump hammer and an adjustable spanner somewhere. I know exactly where the Ball Pein is but I can't remember the last time I used it, using it for a non specific reason just seems odd. If you know what I mean.

Thats solid gold though, a solid gold hammer would be a bit soft, you'd be better off with 9 carat gold, which, at closer to £130k, is a cheap house.

I have a couple of Telcon hammers Gordon,we got them when working in the oil works at ICI billingham,[prob where yours came from!!]also had a few bronze chisels,hexagon section,I used one to make a couple of fusible plugs for my traction engine,[cut 2 incase of "dropping a plug" at a rally] thread cut them bsp in the lathe,they were as tough as old boots to turn & thread cut,got there in the end.

we had a couple of bronze spanners when we did a WW2 home front bomb disposal display a few years ago. we were defusing a bomb!

Its Beryllium Copper....its what they used to use in Coal Mines because of the risk of explosion from Fire Damp...(methane I think)....they used Beryllium Copper spanners etc...all non sparking....my father in law invented non sparking flouresecent lighting for use down the pit

For a while Ping made golf club heads from BeCu....they claimed they had more "feel" so the user could judge distances better......they didnt catch on because the feel was when the golfer picked up the head that had fallen from the shaft....I think it was the difference in expansion that caused the heads to become loose and fall off.
