I know zero about the subject currently and would like to be able to make an informed buying decision. I have had a brief look and see that the prices are the sublime to the ridiculous. Some are table top designs and some really wide. I have also sussed that buyers can be caught out with software, having to buy a subscription the value of which is carefully hidden until you have done the free trial.
My requirements, I think:
Signwriting the new van is the main motivation.
Making signs for the shop windows.
Replacement vehicle logos for after respray work.
Maybe take it to the big Scimitar meet at Curborough to make signs on demand, you know the sort of thing... " Adjustable wench wanted" and "My other car is a bike" type of stuff! That would mean it has to be able to run either from low voltage or a generator. I also note that some of the software demands a decent internet connection, not so easy in the field.
I'm not sure what else I would use it for, but I see that some of them will cut different materials and also are of use in Tee shirt manufacture. How does that work then, surely it isn't just cut out the vinyl and stick it to the material? That wouldn't last and would look tacky surely?
