Bare in mind Im still on single phase (changing workshops in the near future so don't want to fork out for a 3 phase install)
I'm currently running a evolution cold cut steel chop saw 355mm blade but I was wondering what the difference is between a chop saw and a horizontal band saw? I'm 18 months maybe longer into my first blade and even though quite a few teeth have smashed off it's still cutting fine but I'm just about ready for a new blade.
The way I have the saw mounted on my bench with a 5 meter fence it's difficult to cut mitres and it doesn't do a good job of it either as appose to a wood chop saw that has preset notches for the saw to drop into on the turning bed, it would be ideal if the saw would rotate instead of just the fence
The biggest material I cut is 120mm box and that's the limit for this machine
What benefits would I get from having a vertical cut band saw if any?
Thanks
