They need some snow chains
Aye, but they'd be better on the driven wheels

They need some snow chains
mr bmw springs to mind![]()
We had snow overnight here and my rwd van just worked like normal.
Gent from OpenReach in a fwd van couldn't get up the very minor gradient outside the house.
Little old lady in a Micra drove round him and up the hill shaking her head in fustration.
It's not normally the vehicle that's the problem but the nut holding the steering wheel.
Most fun I had in the snow was a Mitsubishi l300 panel van. Never got stuck even on the big hills.Nowt wrong with an arsed end drive car it's the driver that can't drive in the snow....
Makes sense - my trusty 70s RWD banger goes well in snow on normal tyres - snow tyres fitted since the photo make it even more sure footed. They reckon that a properly driven rwd car with winter tyres will perform better than a 'soft-roader/SUV/4x4/'Chelsea tractor' on normal tyres...![]()
fwd van?every winter I have to grit the slope on road outside my house otherwise I just skid all over .wifey just sails out in car. theres that much crap and gear in the van the back end squats and it cant grip
Front wheel drive are better in the snow no doubt. Pushed many a rear wheel drive car out around here, bit of a slope, icy and driver skill has nothing to do with it if you can’t move forward.
I had a Mk3 Granada for many years, never had any problems in bad weather, the only thing that ever held me up was idiots that cant drive, mostly in fwd noddy cars and equipped with a heavy right foot.
yepfwd van?
They are no better if you don’t know how to drive in snow. Ice is a different ball game, nothing is that good on it unless you have chains or spiked tyres.
