Laser/flooring levels

Afternoon all, hoping some of the good people on here can help me out.
I'm looking for a tiling laser/laser level that can put a line on the floor and also be used for levels on the wall-preferably without screwing it to the wall
The one I've come across so far is the Bosch GTL3

Looks great for flooring but for wall use it needs to be screwed down and fixed to the base plate.
Some of the ones that come with tripods seem to be ideal for the wall use but not so much for putting a line on the floor.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Or is it easier to look at slightly cheaper option and buy one for each

I have a Stanley Fatmax CLLi, put a line on the floor and horizontal level line too, has a standard tripod head for use on a tripod. You can get laser levels that do the vertical and horizontal lines as well as a point spot up and down, many useful features,

The linked laser is purely suited to tiling. It emits 3 lines 45 degrees apart and will not act like a cross line laser.
No good for pinging a level up or across a wall.

Personally I use the latter. Ping a line around the room just slightly lower than my first tile and batten to it. Tile off the batton and use the vertical line on the laser for alignment where required.

Floor tiles il ping a center line across the room and tile either way. Self aligning with spacers really as long as you have a good datum to work from.

I use a plasterboard prop and a handlebar camera mount with mine. Gives me floor to ceiling adjustment and placed in the corner of a room wraps the whole room.

Mine came with a spring loaded floor to ceiling prop and clamp, So like your set-up floor to ceiling use, Mine shoots a red line but the later models have a green laser, apparently more visible in daylight.

I think that's what appeals with the Bosch one, however like you say, going off a line from the middle is easy enough. I guess my question now turns to what would you recommend for one to put a line down the floor and also be used for a level on the walls.

Dewalt do a reasonable cross line too.

i just nail a saw to the wall and stick the magnetic Bosh to it (Helps if its one of the joiners saws it really hacks them off )
beware parallax error if the walls not plumb and the laser not perpendicular to it they arent fool proof

Take a look at Bosch gll 3-50 or 3-80
Gives 3 lines, makes it very useful.

DeWalt and others have similar too.

There certainly seem to be a good few on the market. Just need to make sure I find one that will put a line on the floor nicely. Tried using a dewalt one at work and not for love nor money could I get a line on the floor!

The 180 I linked above will wrap a room.

If I place it midway up a wall it will wrap a vert and horizontal line all around the room floor and ceiling inc.
Can also lock the beam for off level lines useful on occasion.

That sounds just what I'm after. Predominantly it will be used for flooring but when I move in to my new place I'm going to re do the bathroom and kitchen so that's when it will come in most handy

Use mine for all sorts. Great for kitchens and bathrooms.

These or similar are handy when tiling floors.

Best used with standard set to allow time to adjust previously laid.

I use it for steel fixing, joinery, tiling, everything.

Clean room and spans perfectly but some junk in the way here

was using mine down the passage at the school for doing lights . the kids suddenly stopped near the line and asked if it was ok to cross .err yes no probs . all the kids stepped over the line I turned away and laughed

Not the best. Hard to photograph with the lights on and crap quality with the lights off. If it died I'd buy another tomorrow.

I have a pacific laser it was expensive when I bought it probably cheaper ones will be good enough now that all companys are making them the price reduces . mainly use mine for downlighters on ceilings and conduits down walls

Is that the PLS you are referring to? Worth the extra £80 over the Stanley?

We have a bathroom and en-suite to tile in the next couple of months and struggling to find a tiler free in this neck of the woods so may have to have a go myself and add another DIY skill to the armoury to add to plumbing, electrics and bricklaying (in lime) and plastering (in lime) -just don't have the time to do it all myself even though I enjoy it
