Pferd Files

Well I’ve been after some Pferd files to try for a long time so I enquiried yesterday.

Regional rep just rang up though and said files are boxed in packs of 10!

Would anyone be interested in splitting? Still waiting on prices. There would be 10 each of the following:

Aluminium File Rectangular 1612 w 250 H0

Aluminium File Half Round 1652 w 250 H0

Corinox Pottance Part No.: COR 810 200 H0

Corinox Half Round Part No.: COR 835 200 H0

Corinox Round Part No.: COR 845 200 H0

Corinox Triangle Part No.: COR 855 200 H0

I believe the corinox (for stainless and titanium) were about £35 a piece. Possibly plus VAT.

The aluminium files are about a 1/3 of that

Yes.

Pferd started out 200 years ago making rasps for farriers in Germany.

They still do make a rasp and it’s a bloody good one. They call it a hoof plane and basically it’s a milled tooth. Sharp as hell and can be resharpened on a polishing wheel.

They also invented the tungsten carbide burr but due to a lot of German patents being nullified or redistributed after the Second World War, they lost out to everyone else.

Right. Boxes of 10. I would have to have at least 5 guaranteed and I’ll flog any left overs on eBay.
These are just the files no handle. Can do FH4 ergonomic handles at £2.50.

Aluminium file rectangular: £12 + post
Aluminium file half round £14 + post

Boxes of 12 would need to guarantee 7 before buying and again would clog the rest on eBay. These are for stainless and titanium or other hard exotic alloys. Quite a fine cut ideal for finishing work and precision filing.

I think I’ll have to open my own Pferd shop! Barely anything is sold individually!

Also have some excellent fillet weld brushes and stainless and mild steel normal brushes, plus file cleaning brushes.

And some tube brushes 6mm diameter and 12mm diameter.
