Eldest showed interest in archery so picked up a set of these for him

Hes not too bad. Cosistently hits the target from ten metres bbut needs a bit more strength in his arms.
Always been a pretty good shot so I picked these up for myself.
Nice little 55 pound compound
Been playing with the soft arrows over the weekend and they work surprisingly well but want to make a target up now.
Plan is 12x2 frame with a slot 1/4 down both sides.
Chicken wire both sides amd finished with weed control fabric.
Top 12x2 notched to suit the slot and threaded bar either side to compress the filing.
That's what Im not sure on.
Old clothes is on option but read about people using old plastic bags.
Ive got loads of cheap old tarps and was debating using them. Will they do the. Job?
Any other options. Didnt want to go cloth as will be out in all weather
