If you do a bit of site or machine welding its worth piggy backing the earth lead and have two different clamps on the same cable. One of them will do the job but sometimes both are needed if the machine has a bad earth path within itself , the other one I did has a magnet and clamp.
Holding and accurately cross drilling small round stuff like bolt heads can be a real pain in a drill vice; even when there is a vee in the jaws. I mounted a couple of drill chucks salvaged from dead power tools on a scrap piece of heavy angle to make this easier. I did machine this particular piece square first as it had some Chinese blokes idea of a 90 degree angle.
The cheap chinese inverter on my lathe made a hell of a racket with the cooling fan running all the time and it not getting hot so i interupted the power supply to the fan with a thermal switch and glued it to the heat sink.
Its a result.
Thx Brad, and that reminds me to show how to bevel fast on aluminium.
Just put a 30-45° chamfer bit in a wood router and it's done in second. Worth the set up time if there are plenty to do.
