grinder switch broke

ok the grinder stopped working cheapo wicks one, traced fault to the switch it is/was a double pole switch it now is a single pole switch! Does anyone see a problem in this? Works just fine now with only the negative switched, the contacts had melted and broken in the + side

cool I just took the 3 wires out and soldered them together

My switch went stiff to press on Grinder and finally stopped working,I took a picture of the switch then went on eBay found the same switch inc post for less than 5 quid.It arrived 2 days later,Went to my Grinder looked at the pics on my phone replaced wires on new switch on and all was good.

If you can't get a new switch arrange it so the live is switched. With the negative switched the grinder is still live when switched off.

dam i wish I had had read that before i soldered and heat shrunk the 3 wires together!

Yea. You can use it like a welder. It will fill metal in rather than remove it.

Swap live & neutral in the plug.

Not the best way to fix it, but if you insist then put some coloured sleeving on the wires, just so someone else doesn't see it incorrectly wired and "fixes" it, thus putting themselves in danger.

No, now you have reversed the polarity it will run gasless.

so swapping the wires in the plug is my best option other than taking it all apart and having a ball ache

Maybe just put a white plug on it and write that they are swapped on the back of the plug or something.

Also, it's not got a speed controller in it has it?

Yes they do they were on special offer but the price has now gone up again
