I made a start at stripping the gloss paint off one of my 7 braced pine doors. So far the method has been a manual paint scraper for the bulk of it followed by a Random orbital sander with 80 grit pads.
I’m not sure whether I need to replace the blade in the scraper but it doesn’t bite into the paint properly so take ages. The ROS seems to be going through pads like nobodies business - I’m only using light pressure with Bosch pads but they just start falling off after seemingly little use, and once they come off once they just keep flying off. Went through 4 pads and haven’t even finished one side of one door yet!
Is there another method I’ve overlooked here? Paint stripper would be ideal but when I’ve tried modern stuff it’s been absolute cack
