Yes any fatal accident gets a fine tooth comb these days it's unbelievable the details they will go into.Audi only allow 2mm of wear on a break disc, that's overall so 1mm per side. I have seen insurance assessors measure the thickness of brake discs after accidents. With the cost of new discs these days it's not worth getting them skimmed on the majority of normal cars. Only worth doing if they're very pricey discs. Any man skilled enough on a lathe to do a set of discs to a high standard deserves to be paid more than most discs cost.
