This is what we used to do
What are they making in the 2nd one? Are they bearing shells or something?

I was in the TaTa steel works Corby a few weeks back to show a few guys how to weld the slabs
I used to do some stuff at the Quebecor printing plant near Corby, always amused me when you heard some of the locals chatting with a broad Scottish accent!! I believe there were so many Scots that came down the accent never really disappeared, there is/was a similar thing near here in Buckley where @normspanners lives - lots of people moved there from Stoke when the potteries were being shut and a brickworks opened near here - the local population had an accent/dialect that was totally alien to anywhere else nearby! (Its since been watered down a lot with the passing of time)Shedloads [well, busloads] of lads went South from the North-East of Scotland to get work when Corby started up, drawn by the big wages. Tide reversed when the oil industry took off.
Great video thanks for sharing!
There’s still (surprisingly) a fair bit around though obviously nowhere near the scale as in the film , port talbot and Sheffield already mentioned , but there’s some new investment going on at Scunthorpe at the moment (I’m there for a job in January) and shotton still produces rolled strip products as well as llanwern and Trostre which are still producing.
