That simple thing can make a huge difference to the life of a tool, the amount of kit i have opened up to find 80% of the grease applied on manufacture is still sitting in a bead just to the side of a gear sitting there not doing anything.As soon as I get one the gearbox gets stripped and moly'd, and I 'service' them (strip, clean, lube) about every 12-18 months, more often if they get wet or particularly dirty...
Yeah, it's sad of me in a way, but I very rarely have to replace my tools.
