Edit 2: Still haven't got round to getting the MIG going so it was all done with 3.2 6013's on the trusty old Oxford.

It may not be a modern high tech inverter but you can guarantee the oxford will always work! After a nuclear war all that will be left will be cockroaches & oxfords/pickhills!

@Hood - I admire your top quality work but do you ever have a day off? You want to watch you don't burn yourself out!

Good morning gents.
Not just today but yesterday as well. Workshop work, started to machine new roll formers for 'Donna'. Got some 180mm solid, machined down to 177.5mm 82mm long 60mm bore and 16mm key. Still to machine out the half 50mm dia scolop from each one, there are three.

The left hand one is 32mm scolop for 1" NB pipe, this wider one will be for 1.5" NB pipe.
Customer brought around a Graco 60:1 airless, reported only used a couple of times and seized. I had repaired this one before, so I can feel a complaint coming.

Only used a couple of times? Pump indeed seemed to be very tight, most likely due to not being cleaned out and paint, 2 pack curing inside.

Piston rod, and again only used a couple of times!

Pump tight bit not so tight that air motor could not move it, so checked the air motor. Motor found not stroking, water inside the air reversing valve. Also found grit inside the water trap and inside the air directional switches. All cleaned up and assembled, all operating as expected. Customer will have a few pages of photos and story to read.

All bits cleaned up and ready for assembly.

Back on the cart.

any farmers out there with large flotation rear tyres? loader tine ,pointy end cut off at rite size makes perfect long extension for air gun for removing wheel nuts.

Got finished the second Cheetah today, well not quite as I still have to make up the steering rods but that will be done tomorrow evening back at the workshop.

Angle at side completed, rope deflector on rear of table added to make up for the extra length of the table, round bar welded in to the corner to stop the ropes catching there. That section of the table lifts so part of it is on the table and part on the back section of the boat.

Last job was to make some mounting brackets for the steering ram.

Had some time in the garage not working on the Disco so made some more progress with the lifting frame for the workshop. Got the beam cut to length, cut the end plates and tacked it together.





As the D2 is minus its fuel tank and a few of the ACE pipes, needed something to drag it back into the garage. I inherited a Clarke electric winch a few years ago, only rated 125kg single pull so not man enough to get the D2 over the threshold but double pull

And the anchor point was part of my level 1 fabrication and welding course last year, fixed that to the floor so had something to winch off and then knocked up something from the scrap bin to attach the Clarke winch to the anchor point

4 card wallet. The back is identical to the front.
This is my first attempt at bevelling the edges and then dying them a different colour. It will take a bit of practice to get a clean line. I smudged the dye in a few (quite a few) places. I'm happy with the way the edges shined up after a bit of elbow grease. There are a few changes to make on the next attempt. One day I'll make something that passes quality control.

Place I worked at years ago scrapped these and replace with sandpiper diaphragm pump and had no more issues

Not got a lot to show for today's work as mostly I was hauling through extension cables and control cables and wiring/connecting them to the outboards and the instruments.

Did manage to make the bracket/slider/adjuster for the Jabso pump.

The EWM was in the car from the weekend and as I will be needing it round at the boat to weld on the steering cylinder brackets I decided just to use the R-Tech MTS255S to weld the slider on. Took a wee bit bad but it did the job and welds were reasonable.

Today I made my 320d dog van sit level at the rear, One spring was broken so I put a pair of HD springs on it, took the old ones out and was levering the hub down while slotting the new one in, I thought can I be bothered dropping the ARB, nah there should be enough flex in that..... so the new links should arrive tomorrow to replace the broken one.........
