Will I kill myself!?

I'm hoping for some advice and inspiration. I need to cut a lot of 6x2 timbers very close to a joint and cannot get a circular saw in. I'm thinking of using a 230mm angle grinder with some sort of wood saw blade on it. Do such blades exist? I guess I cannot use a standard circular saw blade? Would I end up slicing some important part off me.....

i wouldn't fancy using a circular saw blade in a grinder, doubt it would be the best idea ever

what about a reciprocating saw and some decent blades?

I have wondered simler. Have seen move to the sun type program and there was someone using one. The speeds match but its the kickback i wondered about

If it doesn't need to be accurate I'd go with an alligator saw. I'd be worried about the disc sticking if you didn't keep it at exactly the right angle....

Angle grinders do have a habit of kicking back on you and getting tangled in your clothing. That stops the normal ones, but might not work so well with a saw blade. Can't imagine you would get saw blades for them for that reason.

How about a reciprocating saw?

yeah, circular saw blades can work at an angle (obviously) but i think kickback would be inevitable if you changed the angle while cutting....

If you can't use a circular saw, could you get a chainsaw with a long bar in there. I would not try using a disk cutter with a circular saw blade in it. If not then by hand.

6x2 wouldn't take long to whip through by hand. If it didnt matter what it looked like a bow saw would p##s through them.

Id use a reciprocating saw. Or a sacrificial hand saw.

YOu can get wood blades for 5" grinders, but not seen them for 9", i would imagin it would be very difficult to hold well enough. Sounds like a very bad idea to me.

Thanks for the thoughts all. I forgot to say that I'll be 25ft up while doing the job, I think I'll keep to the hand saw or my recip. I'll live longer.

How?

The blade's about 1 1/4 inch from the edge of the base, must be a deep pile carpet!

How do the get right up to the door jam on the hindged side?
