Metal shed, bad idea?

I need a shed, no time to build from scratch so prefab it is, already have a nice base. Metal ones are much cheaper and I can get a 10 x 12 in budget but it's 10 x 8 in wood for the same money

Will I regret a metal one with condensation?

Probably, I've got one and its sweats like pregnant nun, why not buy the 10x8 in wood and extend it later on when you have more time.

Yes, don't use a battery drill, you'l strip every thread.

I bought a metal shed as a temporary measure just to store garden tools. As already said metal very thin / dents easily if you breath on a panel. Flimsy in every aspect. Obviously condensation bad. Not very secure as a can opener all a thief would need to gain access. I did consider strengthening and lining with ply or OSB but decided not worth the effort.

I found the same and used pop rivets instead as I have an air riveter

I've got two..... erecting is simple, just don't tighten anything until its all together. Then you can wiggle the roof into place. They are surprisingly solid once its all together and tightened up considering they appear to be made from tin foil.

Condensation is a bitch. I've got the inside covered with polystyrene, ply and expanding foam and I still get condensation. By the time I'd bought the extra bits, I could have bought a wooden shed.

I have an Asgard metal shed to store junk in (not gardening junk). Nicely made, but it does suffer from condensation and I have to be careful what I put in it due to that.

The cross support in mine was also incredibly weak, I reckon anything over an inch of snow and it would have imploded so I beefed it up a bit.

For very little extra money I could have bought a wooden shed, even the cheapest one would be better! Don't waste your money!!

Edit - don't even think about it from a security point of view, I honestly think I could rip it open with my bare hands!

The wind literally tore mine in 2 places, the metal IIRC is about 10 or 12 thou thin.

My BIL bought one and asked me to help him put it up as his DIY skills end at opening a tin of paint. As pointed out, the manufacturers must have a contract with Bacofoil and after hours of attempting to true it up we could not get the sliding doors to work properly. When he moved house a few years later he asked me help dismantle it so he could take it with him, I persuaded him it was a bad idea.

dont buy pinlap sheds there worse thats down rd from me

I am just about to build shed 3 which leans against shed 2, I am using CLS timber from B+Q doing the stick construction and then 2' x 8' OSB t+g outside and then use 22ex cladding should be a bit better then what i saw in Wickes, I will try and take pictures as i go. This is what i did next door but its partially in the ground.
