Shower enclosure nightmare!

Afternoon all, I'm trying to put together an aluminium shower enclosure frame, and rapidly loosing the will to live!

The frame is extruded Ali section held together by going into tapped split tubes but I've managed to snap 2 screws off so far and cannot find a screwdriver that fits the posidrive well, I've got hundreds of driver bits and screwdrivers and not one fits properly! Even tried substitution for my own self tappers but just all jams up before its snug,is it just galling up or?

I suspect they are stainless self tappers

Where's it from? Victorian Plumbing, Victoria Plum, Better Bathrooms etc all supply cheap nasty rubbish, mostly not at cheap prices tho

I didn't buy it sadly, it came from b and poo, about 6 months ago, I'm going try some copaslip or similar to see if it helps

Are they pre drilled?

Yep, and tapped with what is a thread allegedly

Check the hole in comparison to the screw shank, maybe you can drill them out more.

I am sitting in a big cupboard. I missed the sweet spot by about an hour as i have to work around my wifes moods.... just spent 2 days packing up the 5th wheel for winter. Everything is now damn wet that was outside....

If i step out side i am in the shower (a long one by the looks of it.)
What makes it worse is when i get it all done i am going home for all sorts of tasks....they include completion of the fitting of one B and Q shower...lol. so your post jumped out at me. Lol

Have you got no taps you could run down the thread/hole?

I do know what you mean about screw heads. I think they have another i think they are yet to tell us about. I have phillips and posi and yet still get screws that just do not fit.

There always cheap and nasty fixings. Find as good a fitting bit as possible and use a rattle gun and lots of pressure. If it slips once its f#@£%d

I very much doubt that...JIS is a Japanese fitment which is typical quality and anything from B&Q is the worst Ding dong muck out there regarding fixtures and fixings...
