Hi, long time lurker here,
Story is, I'm helping my mate with restoring his truck, it's a 1959 Chevrolet Apache, recently imported into the country, it's got a lot of surface rust and in a few places it's gone through the body panels, the holes won't be a problem, just cut out and replace with good metal
The surface rust will have to be sorted with some sort of treatment, my idea is to sand/wire brush and generally get rid of whatever I can then coat it all with zinc phosphate primer, this is for the places like under the wings etc.
What else could be used ? Anything perhaps a bit better ?
The bodywork will be stripped back to bare metal where we can and etch prime and so on.
Cheers
