Been thinking about making wrough iron gates for a while ..not for a living but for a project ,do you use a jig? ,any info /advice appreciated
Steel gates yes ..sorry thats what i mean ,iv seen a fair few sets around and would like to learn how to make a setNot sure where to start.. wrought iron is not available now, unless you are into classic restoration,, which you are not, or you would not be asking.
Bending steel bar or strip to fabricate gates, OK. There are loads of posts on this site, along with sources of kit to make the shapes.
I do get involved in classic wrought iron work from time to time, as many of the old houses here have iron work from the 1890s; But it is not easy and I try to avoid it.
